June 2017 Development Update
CENTRAL PARK
How exciting is this…. We have ordered all the play equipment! Yep – it’s on its way and we are happy to announce that the colours of the equipment, play surface, seating and cardio bike will take on our Brunslea theme in orange and green. We believe in brand consistency and beautifying our Estate so we think it’s going to look great. Are you excited? We should see the equipment arriving in approx. 6-8 weeks.
We had to alter our original choice for the shade structure to accommodate a sturdier design against vandalism, plus we wanted to get the best long-term and sustainable product for the community – we hope you like it.
You asked and we listened – we have now included bins in the overall design of Central Park, including both garbage and recycling bins. A big thumbs up to our community on being so environmentally friendly.
STREET TREES
Our stage 13a trees have been ordered, and you will begin to see the plantation of these toward the end of May. For the green thumbs amongst us, we thought we’d tell you what we’re planting. We’ve chosen a combination of evergreen and deciduous trees, including these four varieties: Maple, Chinese Elm, Bottlebrush and a Prickly-Leafed Paperbark. We look forward to seeing these grow and mature just as our Estate does.
STAGE 14 CONSTRUCTION
Construction has temporarily been placed on hold as we prioritise some other projects. We want to ensure the right balance, timeliness and high standard of delivery across our strategic plan at Brunslea Park is maintained. This sometimes means a little rearranging and at present we are focused on the Central Park development, further tree planting and community events.
WHO’S A TIDY TOWNS COMMITTEE MEMBER?
Our Maddie has just become a Tidy Towns committee member –congrats Maddie. This comes from her innate love for all things ‘small towns’ and wanting to be part of the greater community of Wagga Wagga. Not only is Maddie focused on our own Estate here at Brunslea Park, but she also believes in the integration of Brunslea Park and it’s inclusion in our greater city plan. The Committee is going to be discussing the entrance of Elizabeth Avenue, as it’s the main road to facilitate the airport entrance and she would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions so that she can table your ideas at the Tidy Towns Committee meetings.
